The Bluff on a grey and misty day
This has not scanned as well as I had hoped, my sea and sky are much stronger. I saw the bluff almost suspended on a grey and misty day and have been wanting to do a very almost nothing painting, there really was no difference between where the sky began and the water ended.
I have been very busy doing textile stuff and havent had a lot of time for sketching or paining.
We are heading for 5 days at least over 35 degrees next week, they are forcasting 3 days over 41 degrees so I will be staying close to home and hoping some idiot doesnt light a fire.

Parsons Beach
If you read my Back Valley seasons blog you will know that we went walking fairly early yesterday morning on Parsons beach.
This was done from a photo I took from the top of the cliff. The light and shade of the clouds was incredible and I have tried to give that impression.
It was a magic morning, just us and a couple of surfers on the beach, we walked from one end to the other as the tide was out and the sand nice and hard to walk on, very often it is soft and really hard going.

Sketches from last night
We went to the Rotary art show in Victor last night and then out to dinner at the Beach Hut and while waiting I did a few quick, very quick sketches, first of the view out of the window, then some fellow who was talking and waiting for a pizza and then these two small boys who were outside dancing and having a lovely time.

Dog walkers on the beach
Mt Breckan in the back ground and dog walkers in the foreground.
I am seeing this every day as I try to walk along the beach and exercise my knee without over doing it.
Getting warmer and this morning was lovely walking.
Still have family here so difficult to get to my paints, It is amazing how much room they take up, like almost the whole house!! And getting into our one and only bathroom is a nightmare, didnt get a shower until they left after 10 am this morning.
Still it is lovely to see them and they are not over very often.

Japanese Ladies keeping out of the sun
I sketched these two in the main street of Kingscote while we were having lunch last week, was it only last week?
The one on the left had a huge floppy hat and the other a large umbrella.
Just had to do a lightening sketch as they passed by.
Feeling a little sore and sorry today, we were out to friends for dinner and to see the New Year in last night, lovely their house is sited so we could see the fireworks almost all around us.
Any way a late night too much rich and lovely food and probably too much bubbly as well.
To day my knee is hurting I obviously did too much on it yesterday although it was the best day, such a lovely walk on the beach with P...
I am washing, have discovered an unknown leak in the cupboard in the bathroom with the towels in it so a heap of towels to be washed and beds to make for the family who may or may not be coming to day, if not today tomorrow.
