Watercolor class day 1

After a lovely week end for us, a totally traumatic one for the State of Victoria with the most devastating bush fires imaginable, I did a class today and this is one of the paintings I produced.
I must say that our stay at the Hilton and the various places and things we ate and our trip down to Glenelg on the tram was wonderful.
Not so wonderful was the worry about the many people I know with Welsh ponies involved in the fires in Victoria. It was emotionally draining seeing and hearing the stories of the survivors and the awful tales about those who didnt.
So far all the people I know have survived although the fires were very close to a lot.
So up early this morning and a trip across to Yankalilla to my class and although I over worked this a bit much its ok.
Thank you to all who follow my blog and wished us well for our 50th wedding anniversary.

Sad to hear about the fires, but glad they are not on your side. I don't find this painting "overworked". Think it's really good. Happy 50th. My 17th is coming in one week.

Congrats on starting your watercolor class. Like Keith, I can't tell it's over worked, either-- looking go-od.

Penny, the painting is lovely. As soon as I heard about the fires I was onto google to see if you or Wendy or Alison lived anywhere near the fires. It's terrible – I'm so glad you don't seem to be anywhere near.

PS My daughter just phoned, asking about you-- they have been watching the news about the fires. We are so glad that you and your family and friends are safe-- Wendy and Alison, too-- and our hearts go out to the people that are suffering, there. We are so dry, now, in West Texas, and we remember how it can get and how frightening it can be.
