Waiting

The nursing home rang to say that my mother is in the last stages of her life.
I saw her yesterday and she didnt know what was really going on around her, which was good but I felt terrible.
I cant settle and I feel far more upset than I thought I would be.
She wont make her 98th birthday, and her quality of live is zilch, we have know that this will happen but ...

Oh Penny! I'm sending you all my thoughts. You are where I was in mid April. We knew it was coming but when it did I was shattered!

Hang in there! My consolation was that when it was over there was no more pain and she was back with Dad (my Dad died 2 years earlier and Mum was lost without him).

Think a hugs cyber hug!

Oh Penny what a phone call. She's your Mum and as you wait you must be feeling it. With our mother, it was a phone call about 1 a.m. that she had died at midnight but had been able to talk with one of the grandsons a few hours earlier. But it's a huge gut feeling. Take care of yourself in the days to come.

I am still very anxious about my husband's heart problems though he smiles, walks a bit, drives around doing messages, listens to songs on you-tube. No golf, no meetings, no trips to Melbourne. It's a real change.

Penny, I have been there too, I still miss my mother greatly after 9 years, but I was so glad she was at last at peace. Take comfort in the knowledge we are all thinking of you. Love and hugs, Robin

We are never ready to have a loved one leave us, even if the leaving is expected. Sending blessings your way.

Penny, what a sad time you are going through. When we are younger we dont think of parents not being there, but knowing they are together and not in pain always helps. Your mum had a long life, and was ready for rest.

My thoughts are with you

cyber hugs from me too

Oh, Penny, I am so sorry. It is so hard to say goodbye. No matter how long it's been we always keep on missing them. Sometimes I whisper, "Love you Mom...Love you, Dad...." and I get a little comfort from that.

Even though we've never met, I'd like to give you a cyber hug, too.

Love & prayers,
annie
