Japonica

I had a rotten day today, we had to put down a new born foal who had deformed back legs. One of those things that occasionally happens when you breed animals but horrid all the same.
I was also swanning around in a long skirt as I have had a boil at the top of my leg, which has finally come to a head and burst but pants are uncomfortable and the band aids I had been using have set up an allergic reaction to my skin. So not a happy chappie today.
I found time to do this rather nothing pen and wash of some japonica which I had picked from the garden and put into one of our friend Rob's rather lovely celadon glaze pots.

I'm sorry about your rotten day, but your painting is very, very lovely. Don't know if there's a connection, but I hope that doing it lifted your spirits somewhat.

Penny,
Hi, my name is Margie and I'm blogging and reading your posts along with some others. I stopped to see your beautiful painting "Near Kent Reserve" of Aug. 10th. It's so beautiful and simple, but seems to contain everything necessary. When I read about losing your foal, and the owl, I wanted to show you a beautiful rendering of a Boobook Owl in a book I just brought home yesterday (coincidence!) It's really nice, with the bird perched on a branch with Eucalyptus (Gum) tree behind. The artist is T.Boyer. I don't want to post it on my blog, (its not being mine), but I can send it as an attachment if you could use it as a reference.

Sympathies,
Margie

Oh dear, what a time you are having. But this is a lovely rendition of japonica, a flower that reminds me so much of my Mum's garden.

Sorry to hear about your awful day Penny. But the Japonica is just delightful. Take care.

So sorry about the foal, Penny. We
have found times like that difficult, too.( And a boil--ugh.)

But I think you saved the day
with your lovely watercolour of the Japonica-- and that means that we get uplifted by it, so thank you. I do love your watercolours.

The weirdest thing, earlier tonight I was recalling my dad popping boils on my legs with his sterilized pocket knife. I also blogged something about a helmet, no relation to your mention of a helmet.

Sorry for the rotten time. You sure turn it into something beautiful. That takes a lot of strength. It's encouraging. Makes me want to get off my toosh and go to the Children's Hospital.

I'm sorry youhad such a rotten day. It's wonderful you were able to make something so beautiful out of it. I would have curled up in bed and felt sorry for myself. You are an inspiration.
